Used Transformers and Switchgear equipment

Transformers & Switchgear
Transformers and switchgears are pieces of equipment that are among the largest, costliest, and most critical devices in an industrial facility. Special Projects International offers different kinds of used transformers and switchgears from well-known manufacturers such as ASCO, Cutler-Hammer & Westinghouse, Federal Pacific Transformers Company, General Electric, GS Hevi-Duty Electric, Precision, Siemens, and Solomon. The different kinds of used transformers and switchgears we offer are listed and described below.

Dry Transformer
Dry transformers, also called dry type transformers, are transformers that have no moving parts and use eco-friendly temperature insulation systems. Dry transformers are commonly used in small and medium voltage applications in electric devices. These transformers are ideal for industrial, utility, and commercial applications. Dry transformers are extremely versatile and do not produce any toxic gases, so they can be used in contaminated and damped areas, forests, indoor and underground sub stations, and more.

Switchgear
Switchgears are parts of an electric power system that are composed of electrical disconnect switches, fuses, or circuit breakers used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment. Switchgear is used to both de-energize equipment to allow work to be done and to clear faults downstream. These pieces of equipment provide isolation of circuits from power supplies.

Motor Control Center
Motor control centers, sometimes abbreviated MCC, are assemblies that control some or all electric motors in a central location. These machines consist of multiple enclosed sections having a common power bus and with each section containing a combination starter. Combination starters consist of a motor starter, fuses or circuit breaker, and power disconnect. A motor control center can also include push buttons, indicator lights, variable-frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and metering equipment. Motor control centers are commonly found in large commercial or industrial building where there are many electric motors that need to be control from a central location, such as a mechanical room or an electrical room.

Oil Filled Pad Mount Transformer
Oil filled pad mount transformers are usually outdoor units as they are commonly designed to withstand environmental hazards. The core and coils are enclosed in a steel oil-filled tank, with terminals for the transformer accessible in an adjacent lockable wiring cabinet. The wiring cabinet has high and low voltage wiring compartments. These units can range from 15 to around 5000 kVA, and they often include built-in fuses and switches.
