Used Shrink Tunnel equipment
Shrink Tunnels
Shrink tunnels are machines that are designed to shrink a plastic film over/around a product for packaging or labeling purposes. Special Projects International offers used shrink tunnels from well-known manufacturers like American Fuji, APM, Automation Packaging Inc., Axon Corp., Clamco, Eastey, Great Lakes, Master Packaging Co., OAL Associates, Sergeant, Shanklin, Trans Tech, and Weldotron. The different kinds of used shrink tunnels we offer are listed and described below.
Electric Shrink Tunnel
An electric shrink tunnel is a machine that is designed for heat shrink packaging various items. These machines consist of a conveyor that carries a loosely-wrapped product through a tunnel heated by electric heating coils. Blower motors disperse the heat from the heating coils throughout the tunnel causing the loose thermos-sensitive material to shrink tightly around the product.
Steam Shrink Tunnel
Steam shrink tunnels are built similarly to electric shrink tunnels, but they are designed to use steam as the heat source instead of hot air. These machines do require a steam supply so that it can produce hot steam in the tunnel. Steam shrink tunnels are commonly used for tamper-evident packaging applications, such as shrink sleeves. Additionally, steam is better at applying heat than hot air making the steam shrink tunnel more efficient than electric shrink tunnels.
