Used Feeder equipment

Feeders
A feeder is an industrial machine that is designed to orient and/or feed materials from one point in a process to another. The ability to orient small parts and feed them into production lines makes feeders vital to many high-speed processes. Special Projects International offers a variety of used feeders from well-known manufacturers like AccuRate, Acrison, Aerocon, Ajax, Allen, American Feeding Systems, Arbo Engineering, Aseeco, AZO, Bauermeister, Carrier, Continental, Eriez, FMC, Garrotte, Hendricks Engineering, Jerhen Industries, J.W. Todd, K-Tron, Moorfeed Corp., Pennwalt, Performance Feeders Inc., Rayco Industries, Rhein-Nadel, Smalley, Syntron, Vac-U-Max, Vibra Screw Inc., Walker Stainless Equipment Co., Weber, and more. The types of feeders we offer are listed and described below.

Screw Feeder
Screw feeders are machines designed to meter bulk materials at a controlled feed rate and are typically located at the beginning of a process line. They consist of a screw within a trough, and the feed material is conveyed within the flights of the screw from the feed to the discharge. As the screw rotates, the material in the trough is passed through from flight to flight until it reaches the discharge port. Screw feeders are commonly used in mining, mineral processing, oil and gas, pulp and paper production, rubber production, plastic production, chemical industry, food industry, pharmaceutical industry and more.

Vibratory Feeder
Vibratory feeders use both vibration and gravity to move material forward. Gravity is the force that influences the feed material to shift direction downwards or laterally. Vibration causes the feed material to move up and down in small and quick movements. The up-and-down motion of the feed material triggers directional movement and allows for a greater gravitational effect which makes the transportation of feed parts more efficient. Vibratory feeders are commonly used to move fine and coarse materials into mixers, furnaces, production processes, or final storage/shipment containers.

Vibratory Bowl Feeder
Vibratory bowl feeders are machines designed to align small individual components and feed them into a production line for further packaging or processing. Vibratory bowl feeders are comprised of a bowl mounted on a spring loaded base. The springs are designed to constrain the bowl’s movement vertically when activated. The components move along an inclined track positioned along the edge of the bowl. A tool in the bowl then orients the components into the required position for processing. If the parts are misaligned, they are pushed to the center of the bowl where they cycle through and travel up the track again for orienting. Vibratory bowl feeders are commonly found in industries that require flexible feeding systems for volume production of parts or pieces. These include the pharmaceutical industry, or for processing consumer electronic components, electrical parts, plastic parts and components, cosmetics, food, automotive, and more. Additionally, vibratory bowl feeders are commonly used for processes like pill bottling.

Weigh Belt Feeders
Weigh belt feeders are machines that consist of a short belt-type conveyor that moves material from the inlet to the discharge. As material enters the feeder, it passes through an inlet shear gate which spreads the mound of feed material into a shallow bed of consistent cross-sectional area. The material is weighed as it is transported, and the belt speed is continuously adjusted to produce a constant discharge rate.
