Used Boiler equipment

Boiler
Industrial boilers are used to either produce hot water or steam. Most boiling or steaming systems have an airtight seal which allows the system to be pressurized. With higher pressure, the boiling point increases which allows water, oil, or another liquid heat up or create steam faster than at atmospheric pressure. Special Projects International offers used boiler packages from well-known manufacturers like Advantage, Application Engineering, Clever Brooks, Electric Steam Generator Corporation, Fulton, M&M Welding and Fabricators, Sterlco, and more. The types of used industrial boilers we offer are listed and described below.

Water Tube Boiler
Water tube boilers are boiler machines in which water circulates in tubes heated externally by the fire. Fuel is burned inside the furnace, creating hot gas which boils water in the steam-generating tubes. The heated water/steam then rises to the steam drum where saturated steam is drawn off the top of the drum. Water tube boilers are found in applications that require dry, high-pressure, and/or high-energy steam. These boilers are commonly used in refining units, chemical processing divisions, and pulp and paper manufacturing plans.

Fire Tube Boiler
Fire tube boilers are boiler machines that use hot gas passing from a fire through one or more tubes running through a sealed container of water. The heat of the gases is transferred through the walls of the tubes which heats the water and ultimately creates steam. Generally, fire tube boilers are smaller in design than water tube boilers, but have a larger water volume which makes these machines take longer to bring up to temperature from a cold start than a water tube boiler. Fire tube boilers are often chosen over water tube boilers for their compact construction, cost efficiency, and because the fluctuation of steam demand can be met easily. Fire tube boilers are easy to install, so they are commonly found in small installations to heat buildings or provide power for factory processes.

Electric Steam Generator
Electric steam generators use a single pressurized vessel to heat water and produce steam. Using a pump, water is fed to the chamber containing submerged heating elements. Once the water is heated to a boil under pressure, steam is released with high energy for power generation or other industrial heating applications. Steam generators are often used to power turbines for power generation because steam contains a large amount of energy. Additionally, electric steam generators can serve many purposes in distillation, sterilization, heat pump auxiliary heating, vessel heating, and HVAC.

Process Temperature Control Unit
Temperature control units provide control of process temperatures by circulating water or an oil-based fluid through the process application. The added heat and re-circulating cooling liquid is what allows for temperature control of the process. These units use a pump to circulate the fluid through the process. In these units, a heater and a cooling valve work together to control the fluid temperature. Process temperature control units are commonly used in the plastics, rubber, food, and chemical industries.

Other Boilers
Special Projects International will also buy/sell/trade the following different types of specialty boilers: packaged boiler, fluidized bed combustion boiler, atmospheric circulating boiler, stoker fire boil, pulverized fuel boiler, and pressurized bed combustion boiler.
