Used Press equipment
Presses
Industrial presses are machines that are designed to apply pressure to a product either to extract a fluid from a material or to change the shape of the material. Special Projects International offers several different types of used presses from well-known manufacturers like Carver, Fette, Rice Barton, Stokes, and Willmes. The different types of used presses we offer are listed and described below.
Tablet Press
Tablet presses are machines that are designed to compress powder into tablets of uniform size and weight. To form a tablet, the granulated powder material must be metered into a cavity formed by two punches and a die, and then the punches must be pressed together with great force to fuse the material together. Tablet presses can be used to manufacture tablets of a wide variety of materials including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cleaning products, industrial pellets, and cosmetics.
Four-Post Hydraulic Press
Four-post hydraulic presses, also called “four-column presses,” are vertical hydraulic presses that act up or down. These machines consist of a guided platen, powered by one or more hydraulic cylinders. They use liquid static pressure to process products such as metals, plastics, rubber, wood, powder, and more. Four-post hydraulic presses are commonly used for forging, stamping, cold extrusion, straightening, bending, flanging, sheet drawing, powder metallurgy, press fittings, and more.
Dewatering Screw Press
Dewatering screw presses are machines that are designed to separate liquids from solids. These devices are usually used in place of a belt press, centrifuge, or filter paper. These machines use a screw to squeeze a feed material against a screen or filter and collect the liquid through the screen as the product. Dewatering screw presses are commonly found in the pulp and paper, sewage disposal, food processing, rubber, and chemical industries.
Bladder Juice Press
Bladder juice presses are machines that consist of a large cylinder that is closed at each end. The feed material is loaded into the cylinder where a large bladder expands and pushes the feed against the side walls. The juice then flows out through small openings in the cylinder, and the cylinder rotates during the process to help homogenize the pressure that is placed on the feed material. These machines are commonly used to press fruits in the fruit juice production process and the wine-making process.
