Used Material Handling Equipment equipment
Material Handling Equipment
Material handling equipment includes machines that are designed to handle material that is not practical to move by hand. Special Projects International offers a variety of used material handling equipment from well-known manufacturers like Advance Lifts Inc., Aerdon, ALM Corporation, American Lifts, A-One Manufacturing, Autoquip Corp., AZO, Bishamon, Budgit, CM, Coffing, Control & Metering Corp., CP Environmental Filters, Crown, Dayton, DCE Vokes, Dumpers Unlimited, Economy, EZ Loader, Handling Systems, Harrington, Hercules Industries, J & J Manufacturing Co., Kelly Duplex, Kilroy, Material Transfer & Storage, Material Transport Company, Morse, Presto Lee, Simplex, Southworth, Tawi AB, Tubar Dumper, T & S Equipment Co., Unitech Industries, Vac-U-Max, Vestil Manufacturing, Wesco, and Yale. The different types of used material handling equipment we offer are listed and described below.
Bag Dump Station
Bag dump stations, also called “manual dumping stations,” collect dust generated when dumping powder and bulk solids from bags, boxes, drums, and other containers. Once the dust is collected (usually by a vacuum fan), the material is returned to the hopper. Bag dumps stations are designed to reduce material waste and eliminate the need to clean a remote dust collection site. In an Automatic Bag Dump Station, the bags are loaded, and the machine opens, orients, and unloads the bag by itself.
Bulk Container Lifting Beam
A bulk container lifting beam is a pieces of equipment that is designed to lift soft-sided or other types of flexible bulk containers that have woven fabric lifting loops or handles. The beam configuration is an H-shape with an oversized lifting eye for quick and secure connections.
Chain Hoist
Chain hoists are machines designed to lift and lower heavy-duty industrial loads between 500 and 4000 pounds. These machines are made with a pulley which is held together by a closed chain. Electric chain hoists are ideal for use in industrial production and small machine shops where more frequent and faster lifting is required.
Drum Deheader
Drum deheaders are industrial machines designed to take the top off of 30 or 55 gallon steel drums without leaving a jagged edge. These machines are usually powered by an electric motor or by pneumatic air supply.
Drum Dumper
Drum dumpers are industrial machines that are designed to assist in the ergonomic handling of 55 gallon steel or fiber drums. These machines are usually used to lift, tilt, and pour drums that are full. Drum dumpers are commonly found in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries to ensure safe and efficient drum dumping at various heights.
Drum Lift
Drum lifts are machines that are designed to lift and transport a 55 gallon drum or something of similar size and shape. These machines consist of a platform base on wheels. The base is powered by a hydraulic unit to raise or lower the platform.
Scissor Lift Table
Scissor lift tables, also called “lift tables,” are machines that are designed to lift large, heavy loads through relatively small distances. Scissor lift tables are commonly used for pallet handling, vehicle loading, and work positioning. These machines are easily adaptable for a specific use. Scissor lift tables are usually powered by a hydraulic system, but can also be powered by pneumatic air supply.
Tote Dumper
Tote dumpers, also called “bin dumpers” or “cart dumpers,” are machines that are designed to lift and tip large-scale containers. These machines collect, transport, and dump bulk loads in a safe and controlled manner. Tote dumpers are commonly found in the food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, and grain supply industries.
Tote Unloader
Tote unloaders are machines that are designed to unload totes and other bulk containers while limiting the amount of dust that results from transferring. These machines can also serve as temporary storage containers. Tote unloaders are commonly used in chemical, food processing, construction, foundry, mining, and pharmaceutical industries.
Vacuum Hoist
Vacuum hoists, also called “vacuum lifters,” are machines that are designed to lift and transport heavy duty loads. These machines are usually suspended from a hoist or boom arm by a hook or other attachment. The lifter’s suction devices are connected to the pump through a series of pneumatic tubes. The suction devices are fastened to various mating fixtures on the vacuum hoist frame. The frame is generally a planar, sturdy metal body. Vacuum hoists are commonly used to move large flat objects like long or wide sheet metal panels or large plates of glass.
Column Dumper
Column dumpers are machines that are design to lift vats, barrels, or v-mag carts and automatically dump them at a specific height. These machines are commonly found in the food processing industry, but they can be applied in various processes.
Hydraulic Jack
Hydraulic jacks are mechanical lifting devices that are used to apply large forces or lift heavy loads. These machines force an incompressible liquid (usually oil) into a cylinder by a pump plunger. The up-and-down movement of the plunger builds pressure in the cylinder that can be released as needed. Hydraulic jacks are commonly found in machine shops.
Jib Crane
Jib cranes are overhead lifting devices that are designed to lift and move heavy industrial loads. These machines are adaptable and can be paired with overhead bridge cranes to maximize production. Jib cranes are commonly used in smaller work cell areas for unique and repetitive lifting tasks.
Pallet Turntable
Pallet turntables, also called “pallet carousels,” are low profile, industrial turntables that have a platform fully supported by bearings around the periphery. These machines are designed to allow an operator to spin a pallet during the loading or unloading process so that they are always working on the near side.
Super Sack Unloader
Super sack unloaders, also called “bulk bag unloaders,” “bulk bag dispenser,” “super sack discharger,” or “big bag unloader,” are machines that are designed to unload and discharge a wide range of materials from bags. These machines maximize bulk unloading safety and efficiency.
Tilt Table
Tilt tables, also called “upenders” or “flippers,” are machines that are designed to tilt a wide range of load types from 1 to 90 degrees. These machines are commonly used for ergonomic positioning of a load such as in parts sorting where a container of parts is tilted toward the operator in order to reduce potentially harmful stretching motions.
