Metal Detectors
Industrial metal detectors are used to detect metal contamination in products. Principally, they have a coil of wire to induce a magnetic field, and two coils to measure the magnetic field. A metal object will change the induced magnetic field, causing the metal detector to detect a difference. Industrial metal detectors are situated over a conveyor so that the product passes through, and they can detect very small metal particles at high speed. Many are equipped with adjustments for tolerance and have alarm and ejector outputs to push contaminated product off the line. They are a necessity for safety, especially in the food and beverage industries, and are also used in the chemical industry and other manufacturing industries when needed.

Checkweighers
Checkweighers are machines that are designed to weigh product as it passes through a production line. These machines are accurate, programmable bench/floor scales that can indicate when a weight is within an acceptable range. Commercial and industrial companies often conduct over/under checkweighing of many small items that are packaged, stored, or sold by weight in bulk.
